What happens after you sign: the steps to permission to operate

Signing is step one, not the finish line. Here is the path from your signature to the day your utility lets you turn the system on. Most projects take several weeks end to end. Exact timing depends on your city and your utility, and we keep you posted at every step. 1. Site survey A technician visits your home to measure the roof, check your electrical panel, and confirm the design works in real life. This usually happens within days of signing. 2. Design and permitting Engineers finalize your system layout. Then we submit permits to your city and an interconnection application to your utility. This is often the longest stretch. Cities and utilities move at their own pace. We track every application and follow up so nothing sits. 3. Install day Most home installs are finished in one to two days. The crew mounts the panels, runs the wiring, and sets up your equipment. You do not need to leave home, though your power may be off for a short time. 4. Inspection Your city or county inspects the work to confirm it meets code. We schedule the inspection and handle it. 5. Permission to operate (PTO) The utility does a final review and grants permission to operate. Once PTO arrives, we turn your system on. Do not switch it on before then. Utilities require that approval first. One honest note We build every proposal on honest numbers. If the math does not work for your home, we say so before you sign, and we walk away. That standard does not stop after signing. If anything changes during permitting, you hear it from us straight. Where we install solar Triple Crown installs solar in Texas, California, Oregon, and Illinois. Questions at any step: call 1-888-801-6789, text (801) 634-0177, or chat at gottriple.com.

From signed agreement to power on — the install timeline

Once you sign, your project moves through five stages. Here is what each one looks like from your side: when you need to be home, and where the waiting actually comes from. The five stages 1. Site survey. A technician measures your roof and checks your electrical panel, usually within days of signing. You need to be home for this one. 2. Design and permits. Engineers finalize the layout, then we file permits with your city and an interconnection application with your utility. Nothing for you to do here except watch for updates. 3. Install day. The crew mounts the panels, runs the wiring, and sets your equipment. Most home installs finish in one to two days. Someone needs to be home, and your power may be off for a short stretch. 4. Inspection. Your city or county confirms the work meets code. We schedule it and handle it. If your inspector needs access to the house, we tell you ahead of time. 5. Permission to operate. Your utility does a final review and grants written approval. Then we turn the system on. Where the waiting comes from The honest answer: permit offices and utilities set part of the pace, and it varies by city. We track every application and follow up so nothing sits in a pile, but we cannot stamp a city permit ourselves. When a stage is waiting on an office, we tell you that plainly instead of going quiet. One thing not to do Do not switch the system on before permission to operate arrives. Utilities require that written approval first, and flipping it early can set the whole process back. What the site survey checks (and why we photograph everything)

The site survey is the first visit after you sign, and it decides whether the design on paper works on your actual house. Here is what the technician checks, and why so many photos get taken. What the survey checks - Roof. Measurements, material, age, and condition. Panels last decades, so the roof under them has to be ready for that. - Shading. Trees, chimneys, and nearby structures that would cut production at certain hours. - Structure. Attic framing and rafters, to confirm the roof can carry the system. - Electrical panel. Capacity and breaker space. Some homes need a panel upgrade before solar can connect, and it is far better to know that now. - Equipment placement. Where the inverter, the connection to your meter, and any battery will live. Plan for the technician to need access to your attic, your electrical panel, and your yard. Why we photograph everything - Engineers design your final system from these photos. More photos means a better design. - Your city requires documentation in the permit packet. - The photos are a record of your home's condition before any work starts. That record protects you. - One thorough visit beats three short ones. Good photos mean the crew rarely has to come back with more questions. If the survey finds a problem Sometimes it does: a roof that needs work first, or a panel that needs upgrading. When that happens, we tell you before anything else moves forward, and any change to the plan or the price comes to you in writing. Nothing changes verbally. Questions before your survey Call 1-888-801-6789, text (801) 634-0177, email help@gottriple.com, or chat at gottriple.com.

How a water softener install day goes

Here is what to expect when Triple Crown installs your water softener, from prep to the final walkthrough. Before we arrive Clear a small working area around your main water line. It is usually in the garage, basement, or a utility closet. The softener also needs a nearby drain and a standard power outlet. Not sure your space works? Text a photo to (801) 634-0177 and we will check it before install day. During the install Most installs are finished in a single visit. Your installer will: 1. Walk through the plan with you before starting. 2. Shut off your water. This is the only downtime, and it is usually brief. 3. Connect the softener to your main line so treated water reaches the whole house. 4. Run the drain line and plug in the unit. 5. Turn the water back on and check every connection for leaks. 6. Add salt and program the system for your household size and water hardness. Before we leave The installer shows you how everything works: where the salt goes, what the display means, and what normal operation sounds like. Ask anything. You should not be left with open questions when we walk out. The first few days You may notice air in your pipes at first. Run your taps for a minute and it clears. The system regenerates on its own, usually overnight. Hearing water run during that cycle is normal. Questions after install day Call 1-888-801-6789, text (801) 634-0177, email help@gottriple.com, or use live chat at gottriple.com.
